Born and raised in Alberta, Mike and his wife Lori and their five children now call Airdrie home. He aims to set a good example for his kids as he and Lori dedicate their spare time to the Airdrie Dads Adopt-A-Grad and Project Jack & Jill initiatives they founded along with additional local charities as they’re able.
Mike has always been active in sports; perhaps most notably in wrestling. In his high school years not only was Mike a fierce competitor, winning many a match, he also went on to hold the title of Provincial Freestyle Wrestling Champion. When Mike learned of the Airdrie Oilmen’s Association White Collar Boxing event he knew immediately he wanted to take on the challenge – a perfect opportunity as it unites his passions of charity and sport. As a member of the White Collar Boxing IV lineup he went on to win his first ever boxing match with a first round knockout. With the help of the coaches at Airdrie’s White Collar Boxing and their fantastic program, Mike has worked hard yet again to condition himself, ready to make this year’s fight the best yet.
